Lifestyle changes make a big impact. After loosing what is now a few pounds by eating better and recently walking a few miles daily. I’ve decided that I’ll continue with the lifestyle change going forward.
As such I have now gone out and purchase a road racing bicycle for myself. Albeit, it’s a pre owned bike because I’d hate to spend a few thousands on a bike only to find out it’s not for me. So it’s now a trial and error stage.
I have been out of the cycling world for more than 17yrs so it will be very difficult getting back on two wheels at the start. But where there is a will, there is a way.
That said, I don’t think there will be any sort of competitive riding involved, more of the time on the bike will be for leisure and charity rides etc. Decided that instead of doing random stuff that is non benefiting on the weekends, I can take some time to give back via the charity rides.
I do hope I feel this cycling spirit again like I did years ago and I continue on with it. On the plus side I have reconnected over the past few years with an old friend that I rode with years ago who is in my area so we shall be riding group rides again.
Hopefully I can do ok here. Wish me luck.
Photo is of the same make and model or bike but now the actual bike.
