Ring o’ ring Rosie

I explained to Sara the real meaning of the old rhyme:

 “Ring-a-ring o’ roses,

A pocket full of posies,
A-tishoo! A-tishoo!

We all fall down”

——–

Told her that this rhyme actually speaks of a skin disease in the olden days during the great plague where it would eat your skin causing you to smell really bad.

The pocket full of posies was actually to hide the stench.

We all fall down- “we all die”.

Now she’s sad!
