Tesla CEO- Power your home with a new type of battery

Picture this: You live in a state such as Florida, its hurricane season, the state gets hit by a hurricane. You lose power during this time, you don’t have a generator and your cell phone is running out of juice the rations in your fridge is starting to go bad.

What do you do?

Well, if you own a Tesla vehicle in the future, you won’t have to worry about this. Just flip that main breaker switch to disconnect yourself from the rest of the gird and plug your car into your home and voila, your home is now power for at least a week.

This is what Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk envision for the future, we will be able to power our homes with a charged Tesla vehicle sitting in the garage. News outlets today are reporting that Mr Musk says that in a few months this will actually be unveiled to the public.

I guess we only have to wait and see what our current “Iron man” Elon Musk has up his sleeves.Elon Musk - CEO Tesla Motors  This is an exciting time to live in, imagine a car with a roof made of solar panels that can be used as a supplement the power supply for a home. This would mean a lot less on electrical bills and less fossil fuel consumed thus a better life for all.

We now have to wait and see what this “New kind of battery” really is.

Self-driving vehicles could cut U.S. car ownership by half.

Reading the article above, I do think they are on the right track, if I could share my car with my friend or neighbour and share the cost of ownershipGoogle Self driving fleet. I don’t see why not. I mean if we have a self driving car that could drop me off to work then go get my neighbour and drop him/her off I am all in for that. It will also make the road a safer place for everyone.
